Hey,
Blackheads, comedones, tiny cysts and enlarged pores – everything we don’t want to have on our faces, yet they tend to reappear on the skin quite regularly which is pretty annoying. Reportedly, such skin concerns are a nightmare of over 50% of women. I’m sure that you know what I’m talking about, especially if your skin is oily.
Researches proved that oily skin type is the most prone to developing all sorts of blemishes. Fortunately, I know how to deal with these “creeps”. In a moment you’ll see that eliminating skin imperfections typical of oily skin won’t be difficult. Please, just go on reading. Here are a few tried and tested tricks to get rid of blackheads for good.
Effective ways to get rid of whiteheads and blackheads
1. Deep skin cleansing. The efficacious one!
Removing makeup using a micellar lotion alone is a fatal solution to skin. Obviously, micelles are skin cleansing masters but you shouldn’t leave them on the face because they attract toxins and impurities floating in the air. Therefore, the next time you take the makeup off using a micellar lotion, follow either with a facial gel or mousse. As the last step, pour a skin toner onto the cotton pad and wipe the face with it. You need this cosmetic to restore the skin’s pH and make it ready for the upcoming conditioning treatments.
2. Facial scrub. Moderately and wisely.
Skin with imperfections has to be treated with a facial scrub because dermis needs “something” that will help it remove the dead cells from the face’s surface. It should be realized that a regular mechanical peel, which contains abrasive particles, may just distribute the bacteria all over the face. Therefore, if your skin is covered with blackheads and whiteheads, go for enzymatic peel that is far gentler. You can use it safely because it doesn’t require you to massage it into the skin. Additionally, such cosmetics have tiny particles that unclog skin pores just marvelously.
3. Skin moisturizing and a good moisturizer.
No matter the skin type, they all have to be regularly replenished with water. It’s worth realizing that all skin types have to be exposed to the favorable conditions in order to remain impeccable. One of the factors contributing to creating the very favorable environment I’ve just mentioned is the high level of hydration. Even though there are plenty of moisturizers you can make use of, I’d recommend you to find a lightweight moisturizing gel.
4. Under no circumstances should you use hands to get rid of the blemish!
Indeed, I guess that almost everybody knows this but we all are tempted to deal with a pimple in a barbarian way. Just pop it and that’s it. Sadly, this method encourages bacteria to multiply and causes skin inflammations. That being said, such solutions don’t help you see the problem off but actually they work the other way round – they make the skin problem even more serious.
5. Beware of the ingredients that favor bacteria.
Bacteria are the number one enemy of flawless complexion. They are the cause of all the types of blemish and imperfection that may develop on your face. And the bacteria may be encouraged to multiply and settle on your face if you use products formulated with controversial ingredients. I hate to break it to you but many “anti-acne” gels and facial washers have very harsh cleansers that do more harm to the skin than good.
Therefore, if you want to be a conscious customer and expose the face to the right treatments, you must know which ingredients are bad for your skin. Some of them are labeled as anti-acne, they are supposed to combat whiteheads and blackheads as well as other impurities, yet in reality they weaken the skin’s protective barrier. Why is that? Because these ingredients leave the skin dehydrated. As a response, the skin starts fighting for itself and tries to rebuild the stripped lipid coat. Not only does it secrete too much sebum but also is almost totally defenseless against bacteria – the vicious circle begins. The more you try to combat acne, the more sebum the skin produces.
I’m sure you want to know the controversial substances I’ve mentioned. Let me present you with the list of anti-acne ingredients that actually can cause more acne on your face:
- SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate)
- ethanol alcohol
- alcohol denat
- isopropyl alcohol
- paraffinum liquidum
- mineral oil
- petrolatum
- silicone (-methicone, dimethicone)
You can try to memorize them or take a screenshot and look at it every time during the shopping.
These are just small changes that will take you closer to eliminate the problem of acne and other skin imperfections. Give your skin some time and you will see how impeccable it will become.
