Do you secure your hair before blow-drying, straightening or curling? Hope so! Sadly, the reality shows that most people skip this step. I hope the following article will encourage at least some of you to add a heat protectant to the hair care tool kit. In today’s post I review and rate the most popular products for thermal protection. Keep reading <3

What factors will I consider while reviewing the products?

Naturally, the effect matters the most so it’s the key criterion. However, there are other important things to look at such as application and consistency because I think comfortable use matters hugely. Last but not least, there’s price and bottle size. There are few products which get max. points in all categories, but I found the one! You’re about to read about it.

3 Best Heat Protection Hair Products

#1 Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray

Rating: 10/10!

Nanoil’s spray is the only product that gets the maximum of points. Let’s start with some technical facts. It comes in an elegant, black-and-gold bottle – a characteristic design of Nanoil’s products. I can see how much spray is left. The bottle has 200 ml and I was pleasantly surprised by the price. Because it’s spray, there are no problems with applying it. Plus, the product is light-textured and doesn’t leave my hair sticky. I also love it that a small amount is enough for even coverage. That’s why it also lasts me a long time.

Obviously, the effect is the most important. Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray is extremely effective at protecting the strands against temps. climbing to 220 ℃, which is why I can use it before blow-drying as well as flat-ironing and curling. I also love to use it in the summer as a protective shield against the sun and dull hair. There are more benefits! Thanks to added hydrolyzed silk proteins, hair gets smooth, silky and glossy. I tried many different products but I rate Nanoil’s spray most highly and use it most often.

#2 Kerastase Chronologiste Thermique Regenerant

Rating: 9/10

Thermal protection cream by Kerastaste is second on my list. It’s a cream so it’s applied in a completely different way. We need to rub it between the hand palms and then massage it into the hair. At first I tended to apply too much, but then I worked out the right amount and now I can use it with my eyes closed. Just remember to spread it evenly to avoid overburdened strands. Sprays are definitely less problematic. Kerastase Chronologiste Thermique Regenerant comes in a black bottle and looks exclusive. It’s 150 ml and costs as much as most Kerastase products, that is a lot…

The formula contains vitamin E and hyaluronic acid so the product has an extra hydrating, volumizing and shine-boosting effect. Naturally, thermal protection is the most important, and this product ensures that.

#3 Kemon AND Heat Spray 13

Rating: 7,5/10

I like to use Kemon AND Heat Spray 13 before straightening. It is rich in ferulic acid and grape seeds for maximum smoothing effect. A gentle shine-boosting effect is another benefit. It is similar to hair sprays for hold yet definitely better for hair. When used before straightening, it stops frizz for many hours – I always had nagging flyaways. Bonus? It also protects the hair from scorching heat and sun so we can take it on holidays.

On the other hand, I don’t like to use it before blow-drying because it leaves my hair slightly weighed down. Kemon AND Heat Spray 13 comes in a 200-ml bottle, is easy to use, and has a good price. It’s the last one on my list because it isn’t as versatile as the above products.

The three products are the best out of all the heat protectants I’d tried. The other ones aren’t good enough so there’s no point in listing them.

Tell me if you also use a heat protectant on your hair and if Nanoil is your favorite too! <3
