Hello to all DIY-junkies!
I am also a fan of homemade beauty products, particularly natural face-care masks. I don’t make face scrubs because I need enzyme products but I’m really big on DIY facial skin treatments. Today I want to share my favorite recipes for face masks that always work. Keep on reading!
HOMEMADE HERB-BASED FACE CLEANSING MASK
Mix 3 teaspoons of chamomile flowers, a tablespoon each of marshmallow, flaxseeds and thyme. Add some warm water and mix until smooth. Apply the mask all over the face (I use a brush) and put a tissue on. When you feel the mixture starts drying, spray some flower water on the face. Rinse after 20 minutes. This mask perfectly cleanses, detoxifies and soothes the skin.
HOMEMADE FACE MASK FOR ENLARGED SKIN PORES
You must have heard about the miraculous effect of baking soda on the skin? Combine it with some lemon juice and mix the ingredients until smooth. Rub the resulting yellowish mask into the face skin or the areas with the enlarged skin pores and blackheads. Leave it on for around 20 minutes.
HOMEMADE HONEY, ARGAN OIL AND ROLLED OATS FACE MASK
Mix a tablespoon each of fine rolled oats and honey, and 5-6 drops of argan oil. Apply the blend onto the face and rinse after 15 minutes. Honey is a superb hydrator, has an antibacterial effect and fights inflammation. Rolled oats are added to the mask to gently exfoliate the epidermis, smoothen the skin and deliver plenty of vitamins and minerals. This mask is full of natural antioxidants, vitamins and minerals (selenium, potassium, silicon, magnesium…).
HOMEMADE HONEY AND YOLK CLEANSING FACE MASK
If you’re looking for the best mask that instantly improves the appearance, egg yolk-based treatment is a must! I add honey to soften and smoothen the skin. Mix one yolk with some honey and apply the mixture onto the face; wash it off after around 20 minutes. The super-smooth skin is guaranteed!
HOMEMADE COSMETIC CLAY, COCONUT OIL AND FLOWER WATER FACE MASK
This is a perfect mask for sensitive, delicate, couperose skins because it seals the walls of blood vessels and plumps the skin. Mix a tablespoon of white clay with coconut oil (first put your coconut oil container in warm water to liquefy it). Enrich the ingredients with rose or lavender water. The resulting thick mask should be left on the skin for 15 minutes.
HOMEMADE BREWER’S YEAST FACE MASK
This is a stunner known to our grandmas. Mix 1/4 pack of fresh yeast with a spoon of warm milk. This gives you a quite thick mask which cleanses, smoothes the skin, evens the skin tone and boosts radiance. If you struggle with post-sun spots, add half a spoon of lemon juice to the mask – it’s my personal favorite!
