Howdy! I know that you like natural oils since you keep asking me about hair oil treatment pretty often. Some of you want to know if there are any unusual and unpopular natural oils that can be applied to hair. Have I ever used some of them? Does it even make sense to use them? What are my thoughts about such oils? I decided I’ll gather the oils in one place and tell you this and that about each one. Ready? Let’s go!
Is it worth using peculiar beauty oils?
Below I’m giving you six natural beauty oils that I find unusual. Are they peculiar enough for you?
1. GARLIC OIL – yep, it does exist! Of course, it isn’t a vampire repellent but it makes your hair grow faster! Actually, garlic has been used for 5000 years for medicinal purposes. Although it creates wonderful effects, the aroma of garlic is found by many as off-putting. Personally, I can’t imagine myself using it no matter how fast and thick my hair would get. This garlic scent is a big no-no for me. But obviously if you feel like trying it out, go ahead! After all, garlic is recognized as a potent antiseptic that combats dandruff and itchy scalp. Also, it’s known for fixing hair shafts.
2. TAMANU OIL – obtained from mastwood tree this is exotic oil that soothes various skin infections. It’s mainly composed of three acids: oleic acid (approx. 49%), linoleic acid (approx. 21%) and palmitic acid (approx. 14%). Tamanu oil is known for being anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, antimycotic and antirheumatic. In general, this oil is “anti” all nasty things that our skin might be affected by, which means that it’s a good idea to have this oil close at hand. Apart from that, tamanu oil is responsible for stimulating tissue regeneration. It’s recommended to treat scalp and other skin parts that grow hair. I personally haven’t needed such support but my friend had problems with the follicles – they were inflamed which was caused by shaving of course. This oil helped her fix this.
3. TSUBAKI OIL – obtained from tea trees and its composition is similar to olive oil. This makes tsubaki oil really popular. This is another oil on that list that is well-tolerated by skin. It provides UV protection and in general is able to shield skin against adverse weather conditions. On the top of that, tsubaki oil kills bacteria and prevents trans-epidermal water loss.
4. PURPLE VIPER’S BUGLOSS OIL – okay, this sounds like an elixir taken from Harry Potter series, doesn’t it? If witches do hair oil treatment, they must use this very oil 🙂 Purple viper’s bugloss oil is extracted from a beautiful plant and has a nice yellow color and pleasant aroma. This oil soothes skin that has been overexposed to the sun and even… radiation therapy! Additionally, purple viper’s bugloss oil deals with ageing, therefore it’s commonly used in face creams for mature, sensitive and dry skin.
5. CRANBERRY SEED OIL – you know what, I just love those names 🙂 This oil is rich in tocotrienols that are proven to be potent antioxidants. Moreover, cranberry seed oil shields skin from UV rays and adverse conditions such as frost, smog, toxins and dry air. I have to admit that this oil seems to be pretty interesting therefore I think I should get it soon.
6. SASANQUA OIL – it’s obtained from sasanqua camellia seeds. It has a beautiful, light yellow color and contains oleic acid (89%) which is known for being a potent antioxidant. This oil creates a microscopic film that prevents skin and hair from dehydration. What I like about sasanqua oil is that it doesn’t leave any greasy feel, yet it gives you all the benefits of beauty oil. In most cases people use it to condition their face skin.
